Records consist primarily of correspondence of officers and others of the United States Sanitary Commission, including Frederick Law Olmsted, Secretary, and Dr. Robert Ware, Inspector, concerning arranging for supplies and medical personnel to aid Northern soldiers wounded in the Civil War. Also, telegrams, notices, and circulars; and lists of wounded soldiers, 1861. Minutes of the Metropolitan Fair in aid of the Commission, 1863-1864; and a scrapbook of the Fair containing leaflets, folders, books, tickets, and magazines concerning various activities of the Fair, 1864.
